food for thought....

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Act like a whiny brat and hurt my feelings once, shame on you; act like a whiny brat and hurt my feelings twice, shame on me.

I don't have to attend every argument I'm invited to.~anonymous

Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~Francesca Reigler

If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it. ~Mary Engelbreit

He who has so little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing anything but his own disposition will waste his life in fruitless efforts. ~Samuel Johnson

A friend can tell you things you don't want to tell yourself. ~Frances Ward Weller

Forgiveness is not saying the offense never happened. It did.

Forgiveness is not saying that everything’s okay. It isn’t.

Forgiveness is not saying we no longer feel the pain of the offense. We do.

Forgiveness is not carelessness or indifference to wrong. It is not permissiveness or the absence of any sense of ethical standards. There can be no forgiveness without standards and values being violated, without persons and relationships being hurt, without a loss so deeply felt that efforts at restoration are pursued. From a distance, forgiveness may look like condoning or permissiveness, but in reality forgiveness takes violators, the violated, and the violation most seriously. To be forgiven is to be taken seriously.
