good weekend!!

Tammy dropped Shelbea off at about 10 yesterday morning. At noon, we (shelbea and I) went with my mom shopping and to lunch. She bought me some new outfits to take to TX (thank God, because the stuff I wear on a daily basis is pretty, "bleck!"), We then went to Max and Erma's for lunch, to Lowes to pick up a grill for mom, and to Payless to look for shoes--no luck there!:(

Mom dropped Shelbea and I at home and we waited for Tammy to pick her up. Kyle had taken the boys to the park to do some hiking,so when Tam came I asked her to take me down to the park. She did, and I met up with the boys and we did some walking, lots of bridge climbing and just enjoying nature. It's SO pretty here this weekend...the sky is BLUE, the temp is GREAT, and there is an awesome breeze!! Can't beat it!! Anyway, we came home for a couple hours and then the boys and I dropped K off at his cousins for some "guy time"...the make a fire in the fire pit and sit around and drink and talk and laugh. It's really annoying..but K deserves some "time off" every once in a while! ;) Mom came down at midnight and sat here (while the kids slept), while I went to pick K's drunk behind up. We came home and ate leftover pizza and watched Psych.

Today...we went to a different park to do MORE hiking. We met up with our friend Rick and his daughter, Merah and we walked and walked and walked...I literally thought I was going to die! I was trying SO hard to not be the "fat, out of shape, whiner" that I WANTED to be!! LOL the only thing that "saved" me was knowing that I was getting really good exercise and that my pores were getting nice and cleaned out--from all that sweating..and that my metabolism was going to be high for several hours...so anything I ate tonight would be like a "freebie"....my own littleMiracle burn of calories...I had yet to consume. But that's what kept me going!! I know, it's sad isn't it?!?

It does make me realize how much I DO NEED to exercise on a regular basis and lose some weight--so I won't always be that fat, out of shape, whiner!!

We saw a couple of really big...cool turtles at the pond...so that was pretty worthwile of the walk too!! :-)

Now, we are beat and just hanging out. The kids are all showered and jammied and eating dessert and then heading to bed. I think I am going to go grab Taco Bell for K and I for dinner and then I am going to take a LONG bath...cause you know..work starts tomorrow! BLECK!

Easter Weekend

I had the day off on Friday. The warehouse at work was closed..so customer service was closed as well. Well, actually they worked 10-2 but I was asked if I wanted the day off and I did!!

I took Logan to school and then came home and Kyle and I snuggled in bed for awhile while Dylan watched tv, played on the computer, and occasionally came into the bedroom to look for some creature that was evidently hiding under our bed!

We went to pick Logan up at 11 (he had a half day--they were supposed to be off, but that was one of their make up days since they missed so much for snow this year). We then went to Chick-fil-A and had lunch! It was so exciting..they just opened one closer to our house. Yay!

It was pretty cold and snowy so we just stayed home all weekend. I ended up with a lovely migraine and Kyle had a horrible cold. We didn't even color eggs...thankfully my kids never even asked about it--it made me feel less guilty.

They loved their Easter baskets and were nicely spoiled..I bought way too much candy though...that of course I am eating. oink oink

We watched Jesus of Nazareth with the kids...which made me feel less guilty about not going to church.

It definitely was the most uneventful Easter we have ever had. Next year can only be better!

Smooth & Silky Summer

As much as I talk about wanting it to be Spring/Summer and warm, the one thing I hate about it, it is all the shaving I have to do. You know, in winter when you wear long pants..you can go a few days between shaves and no one is the wiser..except for your significant other who probably doesn't enjoy the bristley feel of your legs. Not so in the spring and summer...you gotta shave every couple of days and keep everything all smooth and pretty.

I was with Cindy last weekend (I don't think I blogged about that..I'll have to go insert a post down there and tell you all about it) and we went swimming..before I could get into my suit I had to shower and shave. What a PAIN. I couldn't just go up to my knee..NO..I had to shave all the way up..and I have long legs and fat thighs. Not a quick and easy task!

So, I shaved and got all hairless and now I have some of those stupid ingrown hairs and bumps you get..especially around the bikini (can you still call it that when you would NEVER get into a bkini??) line. It's such a pain..and something I have to look forward to ALL summer. Yay me.

I used to have some stuff called Tend Skin that really helped with ingrown hairs and stupid razor burn. I'll have to get some more. I wish I could get that hair removal laser treatment and just be done with it. Stupid hair.

It's Spring?!?!

I just got home from buying the Easter Basket stuff (the bunny gave me $ and a list) and it is SOOO cold! it's snow flurrying, and FARRREEEEZING!! Totally NOT easter egg hunt weather. Stupid Ohio weather. Maybe we will do it IN the house. hmmmm.

I can't believe it was close to 80 last week and I was wearing flip flops and capri pants. Seems like there is never a happy medium here..it's either COLD or HOT.

FLIP FLOPS!!!

I am ready for the warm weather---I ordered K and I each four pair of flip flops from Old Navy..they got here yesterday with the boys summer clothes! I am SO excited!

Flip-flop Weather!!

It was close to 60 today! SIXTY!! I am so excited. My dining room window has been wide open all day letting in fresh air...and it feels SO good!! I'm loving it.

40ish degrees is my personal cut off for flip flops (unless I'm lazy and they are close by). My friend, Barby lives in Miami and her cut off is 70!! LOL

This week it is going to be in the upper 50's and lower 60's! the flip flops are SO coming out of the closet!! I think I might skip over to oldnavy and order some new ones just 'cause! :)

Definitely need to see if I can scrape some $ together to get a pedicure though. My feet are a little scary and neglected latetly.

Spring is in the air

It was actually kind of warm today...I think it got up to around 50. The snow is melting and I think I heard some birds singing this morning....I even wore sandals to take Logan to school this morning! Spring is definitely in the air. YAY!

Speaking of Sandals...I was looking for a place where I can buy reef sandals online. My friend, Teresa has a pair and they are SO cute. I saw hers towards the end of the season last year so I didn't bother to look for them then. But I think I going to get some this year. This site that I found carries several types/brands of sandals and seem to have pretty good prices. I'm thinking I definitely see a pair (or two) in my future!! Bring on the nice weather!!!

Thick as Pea Soup

I was in bed, having dreams about a leaking gas in my house that was going to kill us all and kept waking up, so I decided to just get up and start my day early. I think the dreams started some sort of anxiety attack..I wish it would just stop.

I looked outside and the fog is SOOO thick..I've never seen anything like it..everything just looks white. We are under a "frozen fog" advisory and Logan's school is on a 2 hour delay. His appt. to get his cast off is at 12 today so I am just going to keep him home..the dr's note will excuse him and it seems stupid to go to school for an hour.

Dylan has an appt at the ENT this morning. He has had fluid in his ears for a while and the Ped finally sent us to see if he needs tubes. I am hoping not. I guess the whole family will traipse to the dr. Hopefully, my darling children behave.

Ok..I guess I better start thinking about getting everyone up, fed, and dressed.

Snow Zone

I just went to check the weather since I hard about this snow storm we are supposed to get. My local news channel isn't commiting to an amount of snow that is expected, (they hate to be wrong you know...) so I went to check out my favorite weather site and found this:

Now, I am getting sick. I woke up with a very sore ear and a very sore throat this morning. My chest also feels heavy and when I cough, it burns. Lovely.

More snow is expected on Monday and Tuesday..between 4 and 8 inches..good grief! I'm done. I'm good for one good snow a year..we've had it...it's time for winter to move on now! However, my kids still have not gotten to sled since it has been SOOOO cold and they have been sick. so maybe once this new snow falls we can sled..and then we can really be done with winter. LOL Didn't the groundhog say we would have an early spring??

Speaking of spring, I read today, that Daylight Saving Time is kicking off 3 weeks earlier this year and that it can cause all kinds of havoc...or inconveniences anyway. That should be fun.

School's in session...

School has been back in session since yesterday (2 hour delays yesterday and today) but I kept both boys home. It is just TOO cold and they have both been sick and I decided to just let them stay home and rest/get well. Not that we WANT them home...LOL they are really being little pains..and boy are they WHINEY!! I bet I will be REALLY glad when Monday gets here!!

OK..the cold can go away NOW!

I woke up to a temp of zero this morning...who knows what the wind chill is. *sigh* I REALLY want to take the kids out sledding..but with Logans cough..and fever...I am guessing it wouldn't be the best thing to do.

I'm getting a little annoyed with this cold, I swear..I'm about to start doing a search for dubai properties! It stays hot there year round...and is really gorgeous. I bet the dog would be glad too...he HATES going out in this cold.

It's FREEZING!

It has been SO cold here...FRIGID, man!! School was cancelled Monday and Today because of the below zero temps, then at noon today it started snowing..I think we have about 5 inches..and school is closed again tomorrow!! I hope it warms up a little so we can go out and sled for a little bit...my kids are dying to go since we didn't get to the last time it snowed a couple weeks ago. Logan has been kinda sick though..so we probably shouldn't...but I might bundle him up REALLY good and let him go out for a few minutes anyway! Hmm..wonder if that is a "good mommy" or "bad mommy" thing?!?!? LOL
