stressful Decisions

I had a really really stressful today...all over Dylan and pre-school. so stupid, huh? I just want to make good mommy decisions--and I am so scared I'm not. Not that going to the "wrong" pre-school is going to be life altering for him. LOL

I finally came to a decision though and have felt much better. He starts on Monday...and I start training for my new job.

First Grade

Logan is a first grader today. I took him to school this morning and I think he was a little scared...even though it's the same school, same friends, etc. Bless his heart. He looked very cute and grown up in his new uniform and new shoes, sporting his new camo messenger bag!

I am waiting to hear back from Dylan's pre-school as to when he can start...it should be any day now. He is chomping at the bit to go. Good thing I decided to find him a new pre-school to go to since the one he went to last year didn't have enough kids to open this year!!

Pomp and Circumstance

My oldest baby graduated from Kindergarten on Thursday night!! I was so proud and he looked so handsome in his cap and gown. I only cried a little! :-)

He graduated with "honors" and was on the Principal's List every quarter--I assumed ALL kindergarteners got on the list..but not so!! Yay logan!!

He has learned SO much this year and has made us all very very proud.

We went out for ice cream afterwards with mom and tony and dad, Lola and Amelia, we had a nice time and I was glad they could all be there.

The inlaws sent $75 gift card to Best Buy (which he promptly spent on a new Wii game). Kyle and I are getting him a new bike once my check gets here. And mom gave him 2000 wii points to buy some wii games. he made out like a bandit!

School's out! (for 1 kid anyway)

Yesterday was Dylan's last day of school. When I was buckling him in the car he asked why I was bringing home his placemat, I told him that it was the last day of school--that school was over and he said, "But I didn't learn anything yet!!" LOL I told him he would be back after the summer to learn more. He was ok with that! :-)

He should be starting Kindy in the fall, but with his birthday not being until June 21 he will be a young 5 and really he just isn't ready. I've talked to a few people about it and anyone with boys or experience with young kids thinks it's pretty normal that he isn't ready...and they think it is smart to keep in pre-school another year. So..that's what we are doing.

Since school started Logan buys his lunch some days and packs others...on days he packs he buys milk to drink. I send in one check for this every month. In all this time it has never been a problem. never. NOW, in April it suddenly is.

He has a seperate teacher for the afternoon--the program is really a half day program but the kids that stay full day get extracurricular stuff like computers, spanish, etc. So..the afternoon teacher... I don't really like anyway. But what she did yesterday really burned me up.

This morning Logan said that she wouldn't give him any milk yesterday! I asked why and he said she said he needed to bring his own drink from home. and he told her no he doesn't he gets milk..and she said again..you need to bring your own drink. So, he didn't have ANYTHING to drink with his lunch of PB sandwich, chips, and oreos! He said, "I don't get anything to drink until lunch anyway and then she didn't let me have my milk and I was SO thirsty!!" It broke my heart and of course I cried over it. Just to think about him being thirsty and an adult---his TEACHER not getting him something, just kills me!

So, I told him I would call the school and he would get milk today--he was so worried and said she wouldn't let him. I assured him that he would have milk. So I took him to school and came home and called the office and pretty much threw a fit--in a sweet way of course. she said she would call me back.

She called back (boy is this getting long!) and said that Mrs. T said that Logan doesn't bring money for milk ever and she has just been giving it to him. and the office lady told her that I send a check every month..and Mrs. T said she didn't realize that. She was just letting him have any extra milk she has leftover from the other kids when and IF she has it. Ok. WHATEVER! So...ALLLLLL this time..she has just been giving him milk "free" (or so she thought) and never sent a note home to say milk is .40??? and REGARDLESS...he's SIX...you mean to tell me...you let a child go without because he doesn't have money? There is something wrong with that. He should have been given something to drink. even a cup of water.

I am just sooo mad about it. and it is beyond me why she would think that is acceptable or right. He's a "baby"! I feel like going to the school and pulling her hair out. she also told him he needed shoes with velcro (because she didn't want to tie them) and to wear his jacket that zips (because she didn't want to help button the other one) at various times throughout the year. I am SO glad the year is almost over!!

Oh..so the office lady said she couldn't understand why Mrs. T would do that and that I was exactly right..whether he paid or not he should have been given something to drink and any problems with $ should have been directed to me. She assured me it would never happen again and that she was going to have a talk with her. It better not ever happen again.

The Ultimate Gift

I don't get out to see movies often because they are expensive..and well, I am poor. That, and I don't have a babysitter very often. Anyway, recently I heard about this movie that has me really wanting to go and see it.

I'm a big fan of anything that makes the world a little brighter and people a little more caring.

There will be several opening screenings of The Ultimate Gift all over the US and Canada, and each and every one of them is an opportunity to raise donations for non-profit organizations – including those closest to your heart. I am going to tell Logan's school (since he attends a private school) about it on Monday...what a great fundraising opportunity! And..it will give me a good reason to get a sitter and have a date with Kyle.



I think this movie is definitely going to be a "must see"..write it on your calendar...spread the word.

Thick as Pea Soup

I was in bed, having dreams about a leaking gas in my house that was going to kill us all and kept waking up, so I decided to just get up and start my day early. I think the dreams started some sort of anxiety attack..I wish it would just stop.

I looked outside and the fog is SOOO thick..I've never seen anything like it..everything just looks white. We are under a "frozen fog" advisory and Logan's school is on a 2 hour delay. His appt. to get his cast off is at 12 today so I am just going to keep him home..the dr's note will excuse him and it seems stupid to go to school for an hour.

Dylan has an appt at the ENT this morning. He has had fluid in his ears for a while and the Ped finally sent us to see if he needs tubes. I am hoping not. I guess the whole family will traipse to the dr. Hopefully, my darling children behave.

Ok..I guess I better start thinking about getting everyone up, fed, and dressed.

Who Says You Can't Go Home??

We are home!! Got home about an hour ago...carried all the stuff in, plopped it in the floor and got the kids jammied and in bed! woohoo!

We had a very nice visit, but home is SUCH a good place to be. I can't WAIT to sleep in my bed tonight. Kyle is in the shower and when he gets out we are headed to bed to watch Psych. I'm so excited. LOL

The kids are off school tomorrow for President's Day, but I still have to work of course. bleck. At least I don't have to work until 10 and my commute is about 5 seconds! *wink*

It was so nice seeing Rita and meeting Miss Alayna..I took some pics but will have to upload them some other time..I don't even know where the camera is at this point. She is very sweet and cute and I loved cuddling with her all day Saturday.

UGH. my little angels are fighting...guess I better go get them settled down before I have to beat them.

School's in session...

School has been back in session since yesterday (2 hour delays yesterday and today) but I kept both boys home. It is just TOO cold and they have both been sick and I decided to just let them stay home and rest/get well. Not that we WANT them home...LOL they are really being little pains..and boy are they WHINEY!! I bet I will be REALLY glad when Monday gets here!!

It's FREEZING!

It has been SO cold here...FRIGID, man!! School was cancelled Monday and Today because of the below zero temps, then at noon today it started snowing..I think we have about 5 inches..and school is closed again tomorrow!! I hope it warms up a little so we can go out and sled for a little bit...my kids are dying to go since we didn't get to the last time it snowed a couple weeks ago. Logan has been kinda sick though..so we probably shouldn't...but I might bundle him up REALLY good and let him go out for a few minutes anyway! Hmm..wonder if that is a "good mommy" or "bad mommy" thing?!?!? LOL

Helper Kyle

Today is Kyles day to help at Dylan's pre-school. We are supposed to help 12 days/year. I haven't done any this year since I have to work, but this will be Kyles 4th time to go in. He hates it. LOL I hated it when I had to do it too. all that bending over to help the little kids at their little table wreaks havoc on one's back. I complained about it to Cindy, who is a pre-school teacher and she told me that your back gets used to it..and that she now has good back muscles. LOL

With K and D gone this morning I will have an entire hour to myself before I have to work. I think I will eat breakfast and watch an episode of Desperate Housewives off of the DVR. It's not K's favorite show so they tend to pile up a little..he prefers to "watch" it while he is also doing something else on the computer so he doesn't have to give it his full attention. Silly man!

Open House

We had Logan's open house tonight. It was basically pointless and was nothing like the open houses we had when I was a kid in school. this was basically a look at the curriculum and classroom for next year--I think they are trying to promote re-enrollment and new enrollment since it is a private school. So we went and looked around, talked to the teachers etc. Logan "signed in" in his current class room so he could get an "out of uniform" day on Wednesday.

I am HOPING Dylan will be ready to go to kindergarten next year..but I am really doubting it. I talked to the principal and she is willing to test him before I pay the enrollment fee..that way if he ISN'T ready..I'm not out $100..so that's good. he definitely wouldn't test well now, I don't think..but maybe in a couple months.
