I haven't posted anything interesting lately. I cheated and stuck a "happy birthday dylan" entry in today because I didn't post it last week like a "good mommy" would have! ;-)
So, Tammy came in town last week and Shelbea tried out for the Select Soccer team...she made it and got on the "A" team, which is apparently a much better team than the "B" team. She was very excited...and we were all excited for her. Tammy had a couple interviews and was offered a job that same day. They have friends in the property management business and were able to put a deposit down on a nice house in the suburbs, in a good school district. So, the move is on...Tammy and Shelbea will be here Friday with mattresses to sleep on and their clothes. Tammy will start her new job on Monday..and Larry and his brother, Rob will be here next week with the rest of the furnishings. I guess Shelbea will be hanging out with us while Tammy works, until school starts. My kids will love that...Kyle not so much, I imagine!
We had Dylan's b-day party last Tuesday night...Tammy, Larry, and Shelbea were here, as well as Dad, Lola, Amelia, mom and Tony. We ordered pizza and had cake and ice cream. It was really a nice time and Dylan enjoyed it.
Wednesday night, I couldn't leave work fast enough..I was so excited to have the next few days OFF! Mom and I went for pedicures and I got the cutest flower on my big toes. CUTE!!
On Thursday...Dylan's actual b-day, we headed down to GA for my cousins wedding. Dylan and I went with dad, Lola, and Amelia. Amelia stayed in our hotel room and it was actually a nice time. The wedding was beautiful and it was very nice seeing my family that I haven't seen in several years. I was close enough to Cindy, that she came and picked Dylan and I up and took us to her house for a few hours for a nice visit. It was so good to see her and I am glad we squeezed in a visit...I told her that it would just be stupid to be in GA and NOT see each other! LOL We headed home on Sunday and I had Monday off..it was so nice not having to work...I'm glad I thought to take it off.
Monday, we took the kids to Clifton Gorge to walk the nature trail and then to Youngs Dairy for lunch and to feed the goats. When we got home, we walked down to moms house and Kyle cleaned out her gutters. BLECK!
Tuesday was back to work for me..as much as I hated to go. Tuesday night we went to Tony's work for the final American Idol night. He placed 3rd and as a prize..is going to the American Idol concert when it comes to Colombus in August. Afterwards, we went to Friendlys for ice cream. My kids were NUTSO and I couldn't WAIT to get them home and in bed. I felt like I had run a marathon after dealing with them. They can be SUCH PAINS sometimes!!
Ok..I think that gets me caught up...so I can feel like less of a slacker. Of course I have pics I need to post..and I'll get to it at some point. Hopefully, sooner rather than later!!

Summer Nights
Now that I got some new home furniture I am really really wanting patio furniture. Something really comfy with big cushioned seats and maybe a fire pit thingy in the middle. A place to go out in the evenings after the kids are in bed where I can stretch out and enjoy nature and drink a glass of wine. Sounds heavenly doesn't it??
They are so expensive though. I am hoping that when they go on sale I can find something. I don't know when that kind of furniture goes on sale though...after July 4th??
It's really gonna suck when my new deck is all done and I have nothing to sit on to enjoy it!!! Maybe I'll move the recliner out there!! ;-)

New Furniture--an update
So...
the girl came today to pick up my old home furntiure. (I sold it for $75). As soon as it was gone I vaccumed and mopped the hard wood floors and cleaned the baseboards, walls, windows and window frames. then we moved in the new furniture.
After a couple "arguments" and LOTS of rearranging..we finally have it set in a way we can both stand. It's not perfect, but it will do.
Unfortunately, the couch is so uncomfortable..I think we hate it. It's like the seat isn't long enough..like from the back to the front. I am a tall girl with big ol' long legs and I just don't feel right when sitting on it. I am hoping that it is ust going to take some time to get used to it. You know..the old furniture alrady had our "divets" in it...just felt right. We just need to make new "divets"!

New Furniture!!
~~copy and pasted from my message board~~
well..new to me!
When Dylan was a newborn I decided I hated my furniture. Sofa Express was having a no payments, no interest for 18 months sale. So, we took a family trip and picked out a new sectional.
almost 5 years later..we hate it. It hasn't held up well at all, it stains super easy, the back cushions have small holes in the seams that allow pieces of green stuffing to work it's way out and we are just sick of it. Of course we have no $ for furniture so I have just tried to ignore my hate for this furniture.
Last week, we sold our old car that has been sitting in our driveway for almost 2 years for a whopping $300. The plan was to spend that money on a new bathroom sink and paint for the house. Well.....
I was reading Craigslist last night and saw and ad for Furniture for sale and fell in love with the picture. the ad said it was in good condition...no kids, no pets, just a single guy. $150. I called him, threw on some clothes and ran over to see it!
It's a Lane brand sleeper sofa and love seat..red and white striped...like thin stripes. I LOVE it. You know, my living room is done all in red, white, and blue americana theme stuff. These are going to fit in PERFECTLY!!!
The furniture needs cleaned and has a couple areas on the piping around the cushions that are threadbare, but it is very sturdy and sits very nice..not broken down at all...and it's $150! I called K from there to tell him about the "bad" spots and make sure I was making the right decision (my mom went with me..so I didn't go to a strange mans house alone ) and I told him it was definitely better than what we have now..he said, "I could crap in the floor and it would better than what we have right now!" I thought that was funny. So..I gave the guy my $, got a receipt, and said I would be back this week with a truck. He ended up giving my mom a Papaya tree and a coffee plant. (he's moving out of state)
anyway...I'm just super excited..so I wanted to share.

Sweet Sixteen
My niece, Ashley's birthday was Wed. It's her sweet 16! I was there when she was born--and can't believe it's been 16 years!!
She is having a big party this weekend--the theme is "hollywood" and they are going all out. red carpet, banquet hall, slide shows, DJ the works. I wish I could be there...but it's Easter weekend for one thing...and I didn't have the $ for an airline ticket. So, here I sit upset that I am missing it--oh well.
I talked to Tammy (my sister) the other night and she was telling me all about the decorations and the center pieces. It sounds like it's going to be so nice. anyway, she made me laugh because she was talking about how many people are going to be there..and then she said the banquet hall people asked her how many of their folding tables did she need to rent. She told them 9 because thats how many centerpieces she has. LOL Hopefully, all the guests will fit at 9 tables!
I made her promise to take lots of pictures...I'll be sure to share them when she sends them to me. :)
In other Ashley news, she has decided she wants to graduate a year early and pursue her modeling career in New York or California. Tammy is freaked about that idea. We'll have to see how all that unfolds.

Spending Tax Return $ Wisely
I filed our taxes on Friday and am already making big plans for it.
I have no plans to save it and I think my tentative plans for using some it for an awesome vacation have been put on the back burner.
Truth is, we really need to take care of some stuff around our house...buy some things to make our day to day life a little easier/better etc.
For one thing I really really need to look at home office chairs and purchase one. Mine is AWFUL..and since I am working so many hours a week now, I really need to get a new one. In the last couple of weeks I have been in a lot of pain in my neck and upper back..and I KNOW the chair has something to do with it.
So..I am in a search for that...and while I'm looking for that..I think I am going to look at Bunk Beds for the boys..their beds take up so much room and I really like having them in one room and the play room in the other.
There are so many sites out there to look at for this kind of stuff but I have found some really great furniture of ALL kinds at great priced furniture.com. It is so fun to look at all the different kinds of furniture and get ideas (and dream) about what I would like to have in my house.
So, if I'm scarce...it's because I am lusting over furniture somewhere!! *wink*
