I haven't posted anything interesting lately. I cheated and stuck a "happy birthday dylan" entry in today because I didn't post it last week like a "good mommy" would have! ;-)
So, Tammy came in town last week and Shelbea tried out for the Select Soccer team...she made it and got on the "A" team, which is apparently a much better team than the "B" team. She was very excited...and we were all excited for her. Tammy had a couple interviews and was offered a job that same day. They have friends in the property management business and were able to put a deposit down on a nice house in the suburbs, in a good school district. So, the move is on...Tammy and Shelbea will be here Friday with mattresses to sleep on and their clothes. Tammy will start her new job on Monday..and Larry and his brother, Rob will be here next week with the rest of the furnishings. I guess Shelbea will be hanging out with us while Tammy works, until school starts. My kids will love that...Kyle not so much, I imagine!
We had Dylan's b-day party last Tuesday night...Tammy, Larry, and Shelbea were here, as well as Dad, Lola, Amelia, mom and Tony. We ordered pizza and had cake and ice cream. It was really a nice time and Dylan enjoyed it.
Wednesday night, I couldn't leave work fast enough..I was so excited to have the next few days OFF! Mom and I went for pedicures and I got the cutest flower on my big toes. CUTE!!
On Thursday...Dylan's actual b-day, we headed down to GA for my cousins wedding. Dylan and I went with dad, Lola, and Amelia. Amelia stayed in our hotel room and it was actually a nice time. The wedding was beautiful and it was very nice seeing my family that I haven't seen in several years. I was close enough to Cindy, that she came and picked Dylan and I up and took us to her house for a few hours for a nice visit. It was so good to see her and I am glad we squeezed in a visit...I told her that it would just be stupid to be in GA and NOT see each other! LOL We headed home on Sunday and I had Monday off..it was so nice not having to work...I'm glad I thought to take it off.
Monday, we took the kids to Clifton Gorge to walk the nature trail and then to Youngs Dairy for lunch and to feed the goats. When we got home, we walked down to moms house and Kyle cleaned out her gutters. BLECK!
Tuesday was back to work for me..as much as I hated to go. Tuesday night we went to Tony's work for the final American Idol night. He placed 3rd and as a prize..is going to the American Idol concert when it comes to Colombus in August. Afterwards, we went to Friendlys for ice cream. My kids were NUTSO and I couldn't WAIT to get them home and in bed. I felt like I had run a marathon after dealing with them. They can be SUCH PAINS sometimes!!
Ok..I think that gets me caught up...so I can feel like less of a slacker. Of course I have pics I need to post..and I'll get to it at some point. Hopefully, sooner rather than later!!

Should she..or should she not?
I have a friend that wants to have Lasik surgery..and earlier today we were discussing pros and cons...shoulds and should nots. She was saying that she has done a lot of research and the the percentage of Lasik Complications is actually very low. I reminded her while that is true... if a million people have lasik every year..that "small percentage" is pretty high!
I gues I am just sensitive about eyes..I only have one good eye..I am blind in my left eye. The thought of losing my vision in my other eye freaks me out! Today I was driving and something blew into my eye and while I was rubbing it and trying to get it out I honestly couldn't see and it scared the crap out of me. Then I started thinking about what I would do if I never saw my kids faces again. :(
So..messing with eyes is just very scary to me--BUT I can understand the attraction of Lasik..and I can totally understand her desire to see the alarm clock without setting it on her face. LOL

That reminds me...
ooh..when I made that post earlier about going to disney instead of staying here for the house renovations it reminded me of something stupid! Lucky you..I'm gonna share it!!
We have these um..."friends"..they're not really FRIENDS, per se, but we know them and see them at some of our other friends parties, etc. ANYWAY, they are a little strange. and not strange like ha ha strange..but strange strange.
ANYWAY...(you notice I do that a lot?!? annoying huh?) They were telling us how they were going on a Kissimmee Vacation this summer. I asked if they were going to Disney and she got all hush hush and whispered that they MAY check out Epcot but that they were not going to Disney world. She then said that was why she called it a Kissimmee vacation..and not a Disney Vacation. If they were going to Disney, she would have called it that.
How annoying and weird is that? See...that's why they aren't our friends!!!
Real Estate Agent Wannabe...
We have some good friends that are moving to North Carolina. We don't have many friends that live in the same town we do so we are pretty sad about it. Well, I'm sad..Kyle is indifferent..or so he claims.
When people move, I become a little obsessed with the place they are going and I like to be nosy and check things out and offer them suggestions on places to live etc.
After I spent an hour yesterday looking at Cary NC Real Estate listings, Kyle made me quit. He seemed to think I should be doing things like folding laundry, making dinner, paying attention to the kids. Geesh! Priorities, ya know?!?

Playing Make Believe
My friends cousin lives in Vegas..she and her boyfriend own some kind of car dealership thing. I guess they make REALLY good money. So she and I were talking about how we should move out there and work for them so we can make a lot of money too! LOL
As part of this whole discussion, we went on-line to check out Las Vegas Real Estate and pick out our houses, check out the schools, the shopping, etc.
What? you know you have done that, too!!!

Sunday Nosiness
I was surfing this morning...it's my sunday morning ritual..I get up, walk to the couch, open the laptop and it begins. Sometimes I leave my post to feed the kids and make sure they are ok..only sometimes though!
Anyway, I was surfing and ended up on the website of a church I attended a long time ago. They had pictures on the site and of course I looked...I actually spent a longer time than is probably healthy looking at people I don't know or haven't seen in a long time. One of the girls I knew is married and has a baby...I remember the last time I talked to her she was looking into a Christian Dating Service. She was feeling "old" and like her prince would never come, etc, etc. Now I am curious as to whether she found him through that or not.
Looks like I have a good reason to call her and catch up! Is it wrong that nosiness is pushing me to rekindle our friendship?...NAH!!!!!
