Germ sharing

We have all had "the sickness" now. Kyle seems to be the last one to get over it. the kids are much much much better. I am finally better. I had a HUGE headache yesterday that almost did me in. I took 1200 mg of Ibuprofen about 10pm and laid down on the couch. I woke up at midnight pain free. Yay Ibuprofen! I ate 4 girl scout cookies to celebrate!! :-) Kyles "disease" is hanging on...hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

Thursday we are headed down to TN. Rita's baby shower is saturday and we need to visit with Kyles dad since we haven't seen him since Thanksgiving.

Rita is in the hospital right now on bedrest with high BP and severe swelling. I am very worried about her. they were able to get her BP down with BP meds so that is good. she sounds in good spirits. I will be glad to get down there and see her.

So...once again...it is time to get ready for a trip and the house is a nightmare and laundry needs to be done. my GOAL is to have the house clean before we go. hasn;t happened that way in a long time...so we'll see. LOL

OH! on the way home from TN we are stopping in Lexington and spending the night and going to the childrens museum in cincinnati the next day. We got a great rate on hotwire for a suite and the museum is free since we belong to the natural history museum here. It should be fun...I am looking forward to it.

Bedtime for the kiddos...I better get up and get them headed that way.....and then I have to go to the stupid GROCERY. YUCK!!!

Jinxed!!

I jinxed Logan!! I mentioned to not just one, but SEVERAL people about how healthy my boys have been this winter. Someday, I will learn to keep my mouth shut! LOL Last night at bedtime Logan started sounding a little hoarse. He woke up at midnight "barking" like a seal. I gave him a breathing treatment and some children's nyquil (which he took like a champ) and he slept ok until 4 this morning when he can and got in bed with us.

Now, that Logan is up for the day...he seems fine. No fever, very very little coughing and he is playing fine. hmmmm. I had planned on calling the dr. to make him and appt. but maybe we will just wait it out. He really seems fine...his voice is a little hoarse. I wonder if he has Croup. I knows that with Croup it is worse at night.

I work 8 hours today...so I'll make sure Kyle keeps a close eye on him. Now, if I don;t get him to the dr today and he gets all crappy tonight I am going to feel awful. Parenting sure is hard sometimes. *sigh*

Laid OFF!!

Thank God! LOL I knew that a lay off was coming...as it always does after tax season. I got the notification last night. I am so glad. It was just so monotonous and I was just so tired of it. ugh. so..that job is d0ne....until next year.

Kyles interview went well he thinks. Sounds like an interesting job...different from things he has done in the past. They said they will be making a decision in the next week or so. So, we are keeping our fingers crossed about that.

Amelia got kicked out of boarding school...so she is here with us this week. she starts school on Tuesday...thank god. she is driving us all a little nuts. Once she starts school I will still have to pick her up after she gets off the bus on MWF and bring her home with me until her mom gets off work. I think I would die of embarassment if I was almost 15 and needed a babysitter!!

work starts in 3 minutes...better get started on my big commute back to the bedroom. LOL

Babies!

I have 3 friends that are pregnant. They are all having boys and are all due in the next 4 months. 1 is due march 5, one may 5, and one june 5. LOL it's very exciting. :)

My friend, Rita is having her baby shower March 4. She lives in TN, as do my inlaws, so we are heading there that weekend. it should be fun. I need to start working on figuring out what kind of gift I want to get her. I'd like to get a basket and fill it with little odds and ends that you need when you have a baby...but that tends to get very expensive! so...we'll see.

Dawn lives about 3 hours away...I think I am going to go down and visit her during her maternity leave. She should get to take about 12 weeks so that is good.

There is such neat baby stuff out now. I wish I had had some of the stuff they have now. like the portable swing for example. What a great idea!!!

LOVE it!!

I LOVE my new job. It was such a nice break from the monotonous stuff I usually have to contend with. Time flew and I really, really enjoyed it. I just hope their business conitnues to grow and I can get more hours!! what can you do to help?!? Buy your diapers from www.1800diapers.com It really IS a neat program...if you are in the market you might wanna check it out. :)

Kyle got a call yesterday about a job. he has an interview Tuesday morning. The position is "chemical operator". The pay sounds good. the hours sound yucky...it is a rotating schedule and they work 24/7 so his schedule will vary from week to week. But at this point...beggars can't be choosers, ya know? We'll make it work...IF he gets hired.

Logan had a bad day at school yesterday. The first bad report we have gotten. He has some serious anger issues...which he has been displaying at home for awhile. We have tried time-outs, spankings, taking computer time/tv time/gameboy time away, talking to him and telling him other things to do when he is angry. Nothing seems to be working. the only thing we haven't tried is rewarding positive behavior. so that is next. I have been doing some research online and am trying to come up with a system. The thing is..he isn't a horrible child...and MOST of the time he is so good. He just has serious frustration/anger issues and I'm not sure how to help that. If anyone has any ideas...please feel free to share!!

First day

Today, I start my new job. I am excited and nervous. LOL I trained for 2 nights but it was different than any training I have ever had. I have lots of notes and lots of info and I think this is one of those things that you have to DO to really learn. I am sure I'll be just fine. (I hope)

Really enjoyed my girls only weekend. It was so nice to get away and spend time with mom and rita. I took belly pics of Rita...so cute!!! I never had a "cute" belly..I just had fat and then BIG belly. bleck.

Krista and Marty drove through Dayton on their way home from williamsburg, so we met them at a local mickey D's and had lunch. It was nice seeing them twice in the span of a week. :)

I am reading the 1st book I have read in a LONG time. I used to read all the time and with having kids and falling in love with the internet...I stopped reading. So, anyway..I am reading Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner. I am really really enjoying it and am so glad to be reading again.

A few things....

1) I got a job! another job....a job I really really really wanted but didn't think I was going to get. I am now a customer service rep for 1800diapers.com!! If you are in the market for diapers check out the site. It's really a neat concept. :) Right now I am working 2 days a week. 4 hours a day, but I have a feeling it could definitely grow to more than that. I have had one night of training and I think I am going to LOVE it. I am so so EXCITED!!

2)Kyle still has not heard anything from the county about the job he tested and interviewed for. He did call to check on it and they told him the position hadn't been filled yet. So...that gives us a little hope that maybe he will still be hired. Keeping our fingers crossed.

3) We filed our taxes last week and are getting a nice big return back. I wish we could spend it on something fun, but we will be getting caught up on all the bills that have gotten behind and paying a few things off. Not fun, but really nice to have the worry gone. We bought a membership to a local museum that the kids love to go and play at and with that we can use it at many locations across the country. We do plan to take a trip up to Toledo and go to COSI and the zoo (for "free) and spend a night in a suite with a jacuuzi. so...that will be our "fun" thing to do with the tax money. :)

4) Girls only weekend. My wonderful friend, Rita is expecting her first baby ( a boy, Avery) in May. So, she and her mom and my mom and I are all meeting in Lexington this weekend. (she lives in Knoxville) I am SOOOOOO excited! I can;t wait to see her little pregnant self! We got so lucky on the hotel room. We had wanted to stay at the Sheraton Suites but it was a little pricey and all of us are lacking in the money dept. so we chose another hotel. I happened across some reviews for the other hotel and it sounded like a DUMP. so I cancelled the reservation and went on a search for another hotel. In the end I decided to Hotwire a room. Which was scary since we didn;t know what we would end up with. But I did it anyway...and guess what we got?!? a suite at Sheraton suites!!! We were SOOOO excited! So...the room that was originally going to cost us $70/person we were able to get for $42/person. Can't beat that!!!

5) Krista and Columbus. My friend Krista and her family live in Illinois...they were going to williamsburg, VA this week and made a slight detour to meet up with us in columbus. We stayed the night in the same hotel on Sunday night and then went to a HUGE mcDonalds on Monday. It was so nice to see them for awhile and let the kids play while we chatted.

6)Gatlinburg--Planning a trip to Gatlinburg with some friends of mine from a message board that I belong too. We are going in July and I am in the process now of finding the perfect place that isn't too expensive. NOT an easy task. LOL I am really looking forward to going. A group of us go every summer and we always have the BEST time. I am really looking forward to it! :)

7) Mice. We recently got 2 mice. We sold the hermit crabs and got 2 fancy mice. we LOVE them. they are so cute and so active and we love to watch them. I think one of them might be pregnant. but I have no idea. her bottom looks very swollen and she looks like she is getting
"fat"...but I have looked for pics of pregnant mice and from what I understand you can't really tell they are PG until about a day before they deliver. LOL and I saw a pic of a male mouse...and my she...might really be a he..with big B*lls!! ROFL time will tell.

Seems like I had more to tell...but my kids are sitting on top of me begging for breakfast...so I guess I better feed them before they starve to death!
